Media and Information Literacy
Interpret the words
"Language is a Source of Misunderstanding".
> Many people can have
different interpretations about the message being given and along with the help
of non-verbal cues, people might start to assume and could look to a person
with a different view that is possibly affected by a person's bias and
emotions.
Does the user's/audience's own
background or experience affect the interpretation of the message?
> Yes, because people could
create bias from their past experiences with the sender of the message and the
bias may alter the interpretation of the listener.
Is it possible that a different
individual derives a different meaning from the message? Explain.
> Yes, because people
interpret differently from their own experiences and background which could
lead them to think of different ways of determining the meaning of a message.
